I live between Mexico City and Barcelona, mainly working in media such as video, 8 to 35mm film, Stop Motion, photography, painting, collage and more… I’m a very curious person, constantly looking for avenues of expression that combine those different mediums.
All these techniques, in principle very different, are really linked together for me, as they are all grounded in my will to materialize my emotions, regardless of the means.
I just finished my third Feature Film "Mars at Sunrise" directed by Jessica Habie and second unit cinemtographer for "La Jaula de Oro" directed by Diego Quemada-Diez and selected for 2013 Certain Regard section at Cannes Film Festival.
"Anima" my second feature film has been premiered at Morelia Film Festical '11. My first Feature Film set in Spain, India and Cuba, "Radio Love" was selected for the Toronto Film Festival 2008 and Miami Film Festival, among others...
Selected by Sony Playstation among 5 of the best up and coming directors from Europe with executive producers involved such as Michael Winterbottom, Thomas Vinterberg and Jerry Bruckheimer to work in a shortfilm as director and cinematographer premiered at the Berlinale Film Festival '09.
I have an extensive knowledge of the film craft, after working with many well known cinematographers and directors like Olivier Gondry, Michael Ballhaus, Hype Williams, The Chau Ngo, Javier Salmones and Unax Mendia for the last 15 years.
I have travelled and work around India, Cuba, Italy, USA, the U.K, Israel, Mexico and most of Latin America.
SPECIALITIES:
- Good relationship with production companies and producers all around the world.
- Camera operator in almost any situation like long cranes, hand-held, VFX/motion control, russian arm, motorized
motion control units and much more.
- Constantly up to date with both film and digital, testing, researching and employing new equipment both in production and post-production, becoming an expert in planning customized workflows for any project and any budget.
